| Tasting Notes | Allen Meadows: There is noticeable but not dominant wood present on the spicy, fresh and solidly complex nose of mostly red berry fruit suffused nose. The medium weight flavors are exceptionally forward, rich and quite supple, indeed surprisingly so, all wrapped in a focused finish that displays a touch of acid tang. I'm not entirely sure what to make of this showing as it does not correspond very well to my impression of the barrel sample. Having had this twice now, and from bottles opened at the domaine, I am disappointed. |
