| Tasting Notes | Allen Meadows: The surprisingly expressive nose is quite floral andspicy with still completely primary aromas of black cherry, warmearth and a hint of the sauvage. There is excellent richness to thefocused, intense, vibrant and well-muscled full-bodied flavors thatcarry ample authority and punch on the complex, broad and superblylong finish that reflects and a hint of mocha. There is real depthof material here and the intensity builds from the mid-palate onback to the explosive if slightly austere finish. There is so muchdry extract here that this is a dramatic and powerful wine that iseven slightly better than my original assessment. Make no mistakethough, this is going to require plenty of patience as another 10to 15 years is going to be required. Tasted twice in the last yearwith consistent results. |
